FAQs

Comfort-Truss is designed for reducible inguinal hernias, both direct or indirect.

Most hernia belts are bulky, uncomfortable, and not designed for people who want to stay active or manage their hernia naturally. Comfort-Truss was created by someone who couldn’t find a belt that worked — so he made one that does. It’s lightweight, low profile, and supportive enough to wear all day, whether you’re waiting for surgery or pursuing natural recovery.

That really comes down to personal preference. I (George) personally wear the single-side hernia belt because I prefer to keep things as minimal as possible and avoid wearing anything more than I need. The single belt also allows for more targeted compression directly over the hernia, which usually makes it more effective at holding it in.

That said, plenty of people still choose the double-side hernia belt even with a hernia on just one side. Some like the way it feels more balanced from one side to the other, while others wear it as a preventative measure in case a hernia ever develops on the opposite side. It won’t cause any harm to go that route, but just keep in mind the double is a bit bulkier due to the extra leg strap and the wider front pad that covers both sides.

Yes, it was deigned to be worn under your underwear against the skin. This will give the best support, and also allow you to keep it on at all times throughout the day, even while using the toilet.

Comfort-Truss is designed with a minimalist approach that works well for most people, as reflected in our customer reviews. However, every hernia is different. In some cases, the hernia may be too advanced or internal pressure too great for our minimalist design to provide the desired support.

Because of this, we believe it would be misleading to guarantee that Comfort-Truss will work for everyone. While many people find relief using it, we do not offer a universal guarantee on the product.

We do not recommend wearing the Comfort-Truss while sleeping.

Yes, it will. Many women have used Comfort-Truss successfully, and several have left 5-star reviews sharing their positive experiences. You can find their feedback by browsing the product reviews on our site.

Excellent truss belt. Now I have a little more time to find the right surgeon to do the repair. I shall order another one. Thank you!

    Wish I got the Double

Easy to adjust, doesn’t rub or chafe while running. Holds up well after washing. But little did I know that just after I ordered the single-sided truss, a hernia began forming on the other side.

    Thank you!

As a striking coach for boxing, kickboxing, and MMA I was simply unable to work at my full capacity with the small inguinal hernia I suffer from. The minimalist single side belt has helped me get fully back to work! Thank you. I would give it 5stars but I wish the horizontal strap had loop hole to guide anf pull tight the velcro strap like the vertical one does.

    design improved

I don't believe in doing product reviews on first impressions; but now it has been a couple of months and it's high time I do this.  The older design was pretty good when they were new, but I still needed my big, thick home-made insert with a special 3-D shape; and when the belts started getting old, I used two, one over the other, to try to go a little longer before buying more.  Eventually it just doesn't work well though.  I ordered again in June 2024, and to my surprise, the design had been changed.  (I tried to order earlier, but they were out of stock, and now I suspect it was because of the changeover.)  Initially I was disappointed because my home-made insert had Velcro that needed to stick to the inside of the belt, and it wouldn't stick to the new ones; but I glued some coarse sandpaper on the insert instead, and that worked.  The pressure holds it in place just fine, and the new design is indeed better.  Without my insert, my hernia pops out below the stock pad; I also need more pressure to hold the hernia in.  My hernia is really bad; but going this route, I have almost no limitations.  I'm a fast, fit cyclist, and one problem before was that I pretty much had to stay seated, because getting out of the saddle, the hernia wouldn't stay in.  Now it does.  I have to make the belt really tight, and it's slightly uncomfortable to have it so tight; but it does the job.  The belts' initial wonderful support lasts only a day or two, but of course I can't afford to replace…
