HOW TO WEAR COMFORT-TRUSS HERNIA BELT CORRECTLY
The comfort truss is designed to be worn low around the waist, below the points at the top of the hip bones (Iliac Crest), and just an inch or two above your butt crack. Since there are two different styles of Comfort-Truss (Single and double-sided), there are two different ways that the hernia belt should be put on.
Important Note: The Comfort-Truss is designed to fit tight. You will need to stretch it a few inches to get the velcro on the waist strap fastened! It will stretch out a bit as it breaks in.
Make sure hernia is reduced meaning that there is no lump showing. Some might have to lay on their back in order to accomplish this. If you cannot reduce the hernia back into the abdomen you should not wear the Comfort-Truss.
Place pad over hernia site with smooth side of fabric against the skin.
Wrap waist strap around waist and fasten velcro above the hip opposite of the hernia side.
Pull leg strap down under groin and around under your butt cheek on the same side that your hernia is on.
Pull leg strap through the slit in the fabric above the back of the hip.
Pull snug and fasten velcro to waist strap above hip. As the belt breaks in and stretches, it is possible for the leg strap to be fastened all the way up toward the pad in the front of the belt.
Adjust tightness of straps to support level needed.

Place the waist strap around your waist with the smooth side of the fabric toward your skin and the sewn pad on your back and connect the velcro belt in front of you.
Rotate the belt around so that the pad is in place over the hernia sites and the velcro attachment is attached on your back side.
Pull leg straps down under groin and around under your butt cheeks one at a time.

Pull the leg strap snug and fasten velcro to the sides of the waist strap above hips.
Adjust tightness of straps to support level needed.
Note: The T- Strap is to be installed once the Comfort-Truss has been donned.
Place the joint of the “T” directly over the point where you feel needs the most pressure on top of your hernia.
Run your fingers down the Vertical strap pressing it tight against the fabric of the Comfort-Truss.
Pull both ends of the horizontal straps across the front of the Comfort-Truss, then place the straps against the fabric pressing out any kinks in the strap.
Removal is the opposite of donning.
Note: Some people like to leave the straps fastened and remove the comfort-truss the same as removing their underwear, but it is personal preference.
